# How It’s Done…

Fibonacci staking increases your stake by using the Fibonacci sequence. This allows you to know your stake for each bet and calculate your required betting bank for long losing runs.

In mathematical terms the sequence is as follows:

F(n) = F(n-1) + F(n-2)

This means that the next bet value is calculated as a sum of the previous two values. By default, the sequence value is increased on every losing bet and restarted on the first winning bet or when it reaches the end of the sequence. There are variations of staking like this.

On the table below we can see a sequence example for initial stakes of £1 for the first bet and £2 for the second bet. The tenth bet will have the size of £89 and you will need a betting bank of at least £231 to place those 10 bets. The stake is not adjusted by the odds at which you will bet. What this means is that your profit can be higher if you bet at high odds. However, if you bet at lower odds then you might not win enough to recover all of your losses.

What the table below also shows us is that as your stake increases by the Fibonacci sequence then the minimum required odds to recover all of your losses will also increase. This stops, however,  at odds of 2.62. This means that if you follow the Fibonacci sequence and increase your stake then the maximum odds at which you will ever need to bet to recover all your losses are 2.62. If you bet at higher odds then you will recover all your losses and make a profit.

For example, twelfth bet of £233 at odds of 2.8 will create a profit of £419.4 which is enough to recover your previous losses of £375 and it will also give you a profit of £44.4.
